Guru Ji married Sulakhni, daughter of Mul Chand Chona, at Batala on Bhadon sudi 7, 1544 Bk / 24 September 1487 (local tradition; the date is the one given by the Encyclopaedia of Sikhism). Gurdwara Dehra Sahib (Viah Asthan) and Gurdwara Kandh Sahib in Batala commemorate the wedding, which is still celebrated with an annual fair.
