Gurdwara Hatt Sahib

Sultanpur Lodhi, Punjab, India

What happened hereਇੱਥੇ ਕੀ ਹੋਇਆ

At the invitation of their elder sister Nanaki and her husband Jai Ram, Guru Nanak moved to Sultanpur and became keeper of the modikhana (provision stores) of Nawab Daulat Khan Lodhi. They were known for diligence and open-handed generosity; complaints that they were squandering stock were twice disproved. Here a sangat formed around them, with hymn-singing and shared meals. Gurdwara Hatt Sahib preserves weights said to be the ones they used.
